The IC3JM starts the second year of the Master in Social Sciences.
This is an academic research Master of two years (120 credits), wholly undertaken in English.
It aims to be an internationally recognized Master in the area of the Social Sciences, as demanding, intense and rigorous as the best postgraduate programs in the United States and Europe.
The objective of this Master is to teach students high level research in the core topics of the Social Sciences. The Master provides advanced and interdisciplinary training in the Social Sciences, giving particular importance to methodology and quantitative analysis.
The Master covers three fields: political science, sociology and economic history
Students who wish to write a doctoral thesis after completing the Master may do so in the Social Sciences Department new Doctoral program at Carlos III University.
The professors on the Master comprise members of the IC3JM, from the Departments of Economy and Statistics at the Carlos III University: Jordi Domènech, Juan Fernández, Pablo Fernández, Robert Fishman, Javier Polavieja, Leandro Prados de la Escosura, Carlos Vladimir Rodríguez, Bryan Rooney, Esther Ruiz, Ignacio Sánchez-Cuenca, Rickard Sandell, Carlos Santiago-Caballero, and Helena Veiga.
Furthermore, prestigious external professors have been invited to lecture. During the 2017/18 course, invited professors include Joaquín Artés (Madrid Complutense University), Luis de la Calle (CIDE, Mexico), José Fernández-Albertos (CSIC, Madrid) José Antonio Noguera (Barcelona Autonomous University) and Irena Kogan (Manheim University).
